Now that I have a bit more time in my day…. So I don’t really have a bit more time, but I can choose to be home when my kids are at least. This can be a dangerous thing as I have been perusing my Pinterest Boards. It is time to start trying all those things I began pinning ages ago. Not on Pinterest? Read Kirsten’s post about it.
Yesterday’s project. Homemade Ice Cream without an ice cream maker. I am always a bit skeptical on the you can cut a tomato without a knife commercials, but this sounded promising.
I followed the recipe from Kevin & Amanda: Easy Homemade Ice Cream.
I am going to start with the ending. Seriously easy and amazingly good! There now onto making this goodness.
You will need two ingredients, Sweetened Condensed Milk and Heavy Whipping Cream, plus whatever toppings you would like to use.
I put the heavy whipping cream in my kitchen aide and whipped it until it became whipped cream. While it was whipping, I poured the condensed milk into a bowl and added some chopped up strawberries (I would suggest pureeing some which I will do next time). ThenfFold the whip cream into the milk mixture and put in a container and freeze. Easy peasy!
The ice cream was light and fluffy and became a favorite of everyone (and if you have read any of my previous posts, getting my family to agree on anything is challenging to say the least). We enjoyed it so much that we ate the whole batch. So today I am making Nutella ice cream with chocolate chips. Let me just say the non-frozen version is lip licking good! (is that even a saying?)
Here is the link to the recipe I followed. So worth the try!
